FSAA takes an optimistic approach to 2022
The easing of restrictions in NSW and Victoria will hopefully kickstart what we hope will be a bumper holiday season for all who work in the foodservice industry. We certainly could use the lift in spirits.
I get the chance to talk to a number of people in our industry and while many are saying they have been negatively impacted by the lockdowns, there are others who say their business is very positive. I had one say they can’t keep up with demand and that their business is up ~40 per cent. Let’s hope this can be the case for others in the near future.
The FSAA is taking an optimistic approach to 2022, with plans to deliver not only our usual popular activities but also several industry-first initiatives, encompassing a more collaborative approach to matters that impact the entire foodservice supply market. We will be making a statement detailing these soon.
Our mentoring program has again been enormously successful, with feedback from participants very positive. This member-exclusive program is seen as a wonderful career opportunity and is open to anyone who works for a member company.
We would like to acknowledge our Platinum Partners for their ongoing support which allows us to deliver activities such as the mentoring program, business management scholarship and emerging leaders thinktank as well as subsidising our events. Thank you to those companies who are genuine leaders in foodservice.
Our webinars introduced in 2020 have proven to be very popular. Our most recent one was with guest Belinda Clarke from Restaurant & Catering Australia. She gave an overview of how that critical channel is at the moment. The video of Belinda’s webinar is able to be seen by members on our website – you simply need to enter your username and password and go to the video section. Our November webinar will be another must see with a special guest. Don’t miss it!
Our Viewpoint lunches have had strong attendances when we can hold them. In October we had great support for our Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide events. In November we will be having lunches in Sydney and hopefully Melbourne.
Our annual charity golf day also returns this year – always a fun day where people can network and “fudge” their scores! If you would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We wish all people in our industry the best for the future. For any inquiries we can be contacted at vince@fsaa.org.au or 0404 464 539. You can also visit our website at www.fsaa.org.au.
