It is with great sadness we report that a cherished member of the Australian culinary community and industry, Patrick O’Brien OAM, has passed away.
Patrick was widely known and respected for his passion and dedication in guiding the next generation of chefs. There are many in this industry who class him as a mentor and his loss will be felt greatly.
During his career Patrick was actively involved with the Australian Culinary Federation and managed the National Culinary Teams since 2008. During his time he coached chefs to compete in the highest levels of culinary competition.
In 2023, Patrick was awarded with the Medal of Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to the Hospitality industry.
Patrick will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. We share our deepest gratitude for the influence and energy he brought to the Australian culinary community and wider foodservice sector.
Rest easy chef.
