New MSC certified Calamari from Pacific West

The MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) is globally recognised as the most rigorous and robust sustainable certification program for wild capture fisheries, dedicated to protecting the oceans and safeguarding seafood supplies for the future. Pacific West is proud to be the first in the industry to introduce the Northern Shortfin Squid to the value added seafood products meeting MSC standards.
Sourced off the east coast of North America, the Northern Shortfin Squid (Illex Illecebrosus) is currently one of only two squid species in the world to be MSC certified.
It’s ideal for deep frying as the squid’s thin fleshed tubes cooks quickly while retaining the natural sweet taste of the calamari which is complemented by the savoury overtones of the seasoned crumb.
Perfect for a variety of menu applications from tapas to plated entree, paired with a dipping sauce or just a squeeze of fresh lemon.
