Driving positive change in the foodservice sector: FSAA’s initiatives for growth and sustainability
/Since the beginning of the year the Foodservice Suppliers Association Australia (FSAA) has been on a mission to drive positive change and foster growth within the foodservice industry. With a diverse range of initiatives aimed at professional development, sustainability and advocacy, the FSAA has been at the forefront of addressing key challenges facing the industry today.
One of our standout initiatives is the FSAA’s Mentoring Program, designed to support emerging leaders in the foodservice industry. Recognising the importance of nurturing talent and fostering leadership skills, this program provides invaluable mentorship opportunities for individuals looking to advance their careers in the industry.
In addition to the Mentoring Program, the FSAA has also rolled out its Scholarship program focused on professional development. By offering scholarships to aspiring professionals, the FSAA aims to encourage talent attraction and retention within the foodservice industry, ensuring a skilled workforce for the future.

The FSAA has also firmly entrenched itself in the realm of sustainability, spearheading initiatives to combat food waste and reduce single-use plastics. Through strategic partnerships with organisations like the Australian Food Pact and APCO, the FSAA is driving change by supporting food waste reduction practices and implementing innovative solutions to tackle the use of pails in foodservice.
In collaboration with IFDA (Independent Food Distributors Australia), the FSAA has organised a luncheon featuring the Federal Minister for Industry and Science the Hon Ed Husic MP. This event is designed to provide a platform for industry stakeholders to engage with key policymakers and discuss strategies for bolstering support for food manufacturing and distribution in Australia.
