Thursday, 1 October, Sydney, Australia - Today on International Coffee Day, the world comes together to recognise the millions of people across the globe who work hard to create and serve the coffee we all love! From farmers, to roasters, baristas, caterers, coffee shop owners, right through to our very own team at Nestlé Gympie in Queensland, the home of NESCAFÉ.

Our team of coffee experts in Gympie know just what it takes to make the perfect cup of coffee, and now produce more than 14 million cups of coffee per day. Roasting coffee is a combination of art and science – and our roasters have created many well-known blends, including NESCAFÉ Foodservice Blend, and Australia’s favourite cup of coffee[1], NESCAFÉ BLEND 43.

100% of the coffee beans that are used to make these blends in Gympie are sustainably sourced. As part of our commitment to reduce waste to landfill, more than 60% of the factory energy needs are met by renewable sources, predominantly from spent coffee grounds. In fact, the team behind NESCAFÉ has made a public commitment since 2010 to create coffee that not only tastes good but also does good.

To help ensure this is possible, Nestlé employs hundreds of agronomists that work with farmers to provide business and advanced agricultural training to improve their coffee crop and income. Local communities are also supported through a number of programs that aim to improve quality of life and inspire a new generation to become coffee farmers and help secure the future of coffee for years to come.

Make sure you grab your favourite cup of NESCAFÉ coffee in support of International Coffee Day and play your part in securing the future of coffee.
