The Best of the Best AITC 2021 Winners

After a long and hard road that required nominated candidates from across Australia to be examined by three independent juries, culminating on a final interview on 16 September 2021, the Australian Institute of TechnicalChefs has announced the 2021 Best of The Best national winners.

The various panels were amazed at the quality, commitment and support each candidate received on the road to win this national award.

The Best of the Best candidates were assessed in four separate steps that involved the independent opinion of fourteen nationwide hospitality and tourism industry professionals.

The Best of the Best AITC University Meat 2021 Winner is Isaac Battrick of The George Tavern NSW. Nominated and supported by his college mentors at Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College, Isaac has completed his Certificate II in Hospitality as part of his HSC and has now transitioned to a first-year apprentice with the George Tavern. He is continuing with his studies through TAFE NSW.

The Best of the Best AITC Dilmah Tea 2021 Winner is Thanutya Waite  of Monsoon Thai TAS. Thanutya has pursued her qualification while running a business fulltime and looking after her young family. Thanutya has now completed her Certificate lll in Commercial Cookery.

The Best of the Best AITC-Humpty Doo Barramundi 2021 Winner is John McFadden of Goodrop Oils. John was very highly recommended by his Institute, Le Culinaire Hospitality, as one of the greatest all-rounders of the hospitality industry. From fine dining, hotels, QSRS, catering companies and busy club spaces, to helping providores and consulting to suppliers and industry, John is a highly motivated chef whose attention to detail is well known industry-wide. He is a great communicator, mentor and motivator who loves to share his broad experience with keen apprentices and rising chefs.
